Then he went to the University of Education in Rhineland-Palatinate , Koblenz department. This became the University of Koblenz-Landau, Koblenz Department. Until his death, Müller held a philosophy seminar there as an emeritus .

Positions

He represented the legal-philosophical view that the jurisdiction should be based on a formal ethics instead of a material ethics of values, as is the case today in German law. He justified this position with the fact that he was of the opinion that an overflowing abundance of legal literature did not lead to legal clarity in the judiciary and even less to legal certainty for the individual citizen. Müller's point of view was the idea that the introduction of simple legal principles would contribute to the purification of legal ideas and thus a simplification of the German legal conception, that is to say transparency of court judgments, as well as a general knowledge of the legal situation. The law should follow simple formal principles and not branch out into complex lists of details.

Müller looked back on immense readings and cited names such as Voltaire , Auguste Comte and Thomas Robert Malthus as historical witnesses to his ideas . Everywhere there has been a failure to follow a simple principle instead of producing infinite rules that ultimately become confusing.

In his lectures he conveyed the ideas of past greats from Plato to Kant . He did not like currents which, from a philosophical point of view, sought to lower the value of reason. This could mean Nietzsche as well as the Frankfurt School , but also Noam Chomsky , whose theorems he was of course familiar.
