Wolfgang Hesse (politician)

Wolfgang Hesse (born July 9, 1913 in Dessau , † April 18, 1999 in Bonn ) was a German politician ( CDU ) and administrative officer. From 1953 to 1964 he was City Director of the City of Wolfsburg and then from 1964 to 1975 City Director of Bonn.

Hesse was the son of Fritz Hesse . He had completed a law degree and was awarded a Dr. iur. been awarded a doctorate . After five years of administrative work as Lower Saxony's youngest city director in Bad Pyrmont, he was elected senior city director of the city of Wolfsburg on August 28, 1953. He held this office until November 1964 and on October 30, 1964, he received the Golden City Plaque of the City of Wolfsburg. He then held the post of senior city director in Bonn until he retired in 1975. On July 13, 1993, Hesse became an honorary citizen of the city of Bonn . He also received the Great Federal Cross of Merit in 1975 and the Order of Merit of North Rhine-Westphalia in 1991 .

In 1983 Hesse donated the blind fountain by Wolfsburg artist Richard Engels for the blind garden in Bonn's Rheinaue .

His grave is in the Poppelsdorf cemetery .
