Karl-Heinz van Kaldenkerken (born April 10, 1925 in Düsseldorf ) is a former German lawyer , administrative lawyer , senior city director (most recently in Bonn ) and administrative advisor (in Dresden ).

Karl-Heinz van Kaldenkerken studied 1946-1949 jurisprudence . In 1951 he submitted his dissertation The international law of the legitimate child in German jurisprudence since 1935 . From 1950 to 1953 he trained as a judge and civil servant in the higher administrative service , including in the legal office of the Leverkusen city ​​administration . He found the closeness to citizens experienced there professionally fulfilling. In 1953 he took - though to him in the City Council by virtue of its time Public Service seemed desirable - the post of Deputy Managing Director of the Business Association wholesale and foreign trade in the National Association of North Rhine-Westphalia (Dusseldorf) on. But soon the opportunity arose to actually go into the public service: From 1953 to 1959 he was municipal legal advisor and city treasurer of the city of Düren . He then held the post of senior city director of the city of Viersen from 1959 to 1974 . Here he set the course so that Viersen was not assigned to the Mönchengladbach / Krefeld metropolitan area as part of the regional structural reform, but could appear as the new district town of Viersen from 1970 after merging with Dülken , Süchteln and Boisheim .

Kaldenkerken had already been a member of the administrative board of the municipal joint agency for administrative simplification (KGSt) in Cologne for several years when he was elected to its board in 1974, to which he belonged until 1976. From 1976 to 1987 he worked as Bonn City Director. As his most pleasant memories he saw the preparation of the Federal Garden Show 1979 , the Second Bonn Treaty, which regulated the multi-million dollar funding of Bonn from the federal budget , and the cultural maintenance with its fruits Städtisches Kunstmuseum , Bundeskunsthalle and House of History . From 1987 to 1990 he was a partner in a law firm in Bonn .

After German reunification , he was asked to help establish an administration in the new federal states . So he came to Dresden and made ten years in administration from 1990 onwards. He stood by the mayor's side as an advisor and as the latter took over the management of the Dresden Conference on Sustainable Urban Development , which consisted of representatives from the City of Dresden and the Free State of Saxony, and which dealt with sales measures and projects for settlement and new buildings. When asked by Dresdner Bank , which provided the chairman of the board of trustees , he dedicated himself to the reconstruction of the Dresden Frauenkirche from 2000 to 2002 as managing director of Wiederaufbau GmbH . From 2002 to 2006 van Kaldenkerken exercised his legal profession in Dresden, while drawing on municipal law and -economic mandates specialized.

Even after his retirement in 2006, he still lives in Dresden. His attachment to Bonn is expressed in his commitment to the board of the Tenten Foundation, which helps Bonn citizens in need. Karl-Heinz van Kaldenkerken is married.

Since 1980 he has been an honorary member of the Catholic student association KDStV Alania Bonn.
