Wolfgang Hoelscher-Obermaier

Wolfgang Hoelscher-Obermaier (born October 28, 1963 in Herrsching am Ammersee ) is a German diplomat and has been consul general in Thessaloniki since August 2010 .

Life

After graduating from high school , Hoelscher-Obermaier studied agricultural science at the Georg-August University in Göttingen from 1984 to 1989 and joined the Foreign Service in 1989 after completing his studies . After completing the career test for the higher service, he first worked in the Department for Latin America at the Foreign Office from 1991 to 1992 , before he was then permanent representative of the Ambassador to Vietnam from 1992 to 1994 .

After his return, he worked between 1994 and 1998 as a consultant in the Department for Southeast Asia at the Foreign Office and then as permanent representative of the ambassador in Uruguay . After serving in the Department for Environmental and Energy Policy Issues between 2001 and 2006, he became Deputy Head of the Department for Policy Issues for Latin America and the Caribbean (Department 303), the Department for Brazil and the regional organizations OAS , CELAC , UNASUR and Mercosur .

Wolfgang Hoelscher-Obermaier is married and has four daughters.

Wolfgang Hoelscher-Obermaier has been Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Thessaloniki since August 2010.
