Wolfgang "Trixie" Keuken (born November 5, 1954 ) is a former German football player .

Career

Wolfgang Keuken grew up on the Lower Rhine in the youth of VfB Rheingold Emmerich and was promoted to Bundesliga club Wuppertaler SV by coach Horst Buhtz in 1974 when he was 19 . On August 24, 1974, the 1st matchday of the 1974/75 season , Keuken made his debut in the first Bundesliga in the game against MSV Duisburg (1: 4) when he came on for Gustav Jung . The season with the WSV was not very successful for him. At the end of the season there was relegation and "Trixie" Keuken only had two more Bundesliga appearances (against Eintracht Braunschweig and Werder Bremen ). In the following second division season under new coach Diethelm Ferner , the young defender did not play in the Wuppertal professional squad. That changed a year later under Ferner's successor Herbert Burdenski . Wolfgang Keuken came in the 1976/77 season on 22 missions and failed with the Wuppertaler SV as third in the table only just on promotion to the Bundesliga. In the final bill, the WSV was three points missing from second place in the table and promoted Arminia Bielefeld .

Wolfgang Keuken then moved in the summer of 1977 to the then Lower Rhine champion and promoted to the second Bundesliga, 1. FC Bocholt . For his new club, Keuken played his personally most successful season in 1977/78 : He scored eight goals in 34 league appearances, but he could not prevent his club from relegating to the newly founded Oberliga Nordrhein . After the runner-up in 1978/79 behind Rot-Weiß Oberhausen , Keuken celebrated the league championship and promotion to the second Bundesliga with 1. FC Bocholt in 1979/80 . In addition, the team took part in the German Amateur Championship and reached the semi-finals. Since the single-track second division was introduced after the 1980/81 season , the chances of relegation were low and the club rose immediately despite rank 12 again. In the DFB Cup 1981/82 Keuken reached the round of 16 with 1. FC Bocholt, where they were only defeated by 1. SC Göttingen 05 in the replay . In the league season 1982/83 he failed with the Bocholtern as Oberliga runners-up behind Rot-Weiß Oberhausen just to get promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga, but took part again in the German Amateur Championship .

Wolfgang Keuken played a total of three Bundesliga games and 85 second division games (10 goals).
