career

The young goalkeeper began his career in the 1970s with 1. FC Bocholt in the Association League Niederrhein . The club rose to the 2nd Bundesliga North in 1977 , but Kieselmann initially remained a substitute goalkeeper behind the newly signed Günther Schubert . On the 25th matchday of the 1977/78 season , in the 5-0 home win of Bocholt over Arminia Bielefeld , he made his second division debut in the Bocholter goal. Wolfgang Kieselmann got the trust of trainer Friedel Elting in the following seven games, five of which were won, but he could no longer prevent the club's direct relegation. In the Oberliga Nordrhein , the Niederrhein selection player was able to prevail as a regular goalkeeper against Günther Schubert, and after the runner-up in 1979 he returned to the 2nd Bundesliga as champions with 1. FC Bocholt in 1979/80 . In his second professional season, fate repeated itself, with Dieter Ferner , an experienced new goalkeeper was signed and Kieselmann only played one game. After relegated to the league, he was back to number one in Bocholter Tor. After missing the championship title in 1982 Kieselmann followed his coach Friedel Elting to Rot-Weiß Oberhausen a year later , who had just been promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga. From 1983 to 1986, the goalkeeper played another 49 second division games for RWO. Then he returned to Bocholt and played for FC Olympia .

Following his playing career, Kieselmann coached various local clubs. In 1989 he took over the training of his former club 1. FC Bocholt on an interim basis with Friedel Elting and trained DJK SV Lowick and TuB Bocholt in the 1990s .
