Wolfgang Kil

Wolfgang Kil (born December 9, 1948 in Berlin ) is a German architect , architecture critic and publicist . In his works, Kil predominantly deals with the disappearance of architecture from the time of the GDR and the handling of cities and regions that are suffering from population loss. Kil campaigned against the demolition of the Kurhaus in Ahrenshoop . He critically observes the structural development of Berlin in various weekly and daily newspapers.

Life

Kil studied architecture at the Weimar University of Architecture and Construction between 1967 and 1972 . From 1972 to 1978 he was employed as an architect at the Berlin Housing Combine. From 1978 to 1982 Kil was the editor-in-chief of the specialist magazine “Farbe und Raum” at Verlag für Bauwesen Berlin . From 1982 to 1992 Kil worked as a freelance critic, publicist and exhibition organizer. From 1992 to 1994 he was an editor at Bauwelt magazine in Berlin. He has been a freelance critic and publicist since 1994.
