Wolfgang Klein (born August 20, 1943 in Lauban , Lower Silesia ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 1990 to 2009 he was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament .

Life

Wolfgang Klein passed his Abitur in 1961 and then studied German and geography from 1963 to 1967 at the “Karl Liebknecht” University of Education in Potsdam . He then worked as a teacher from 1967 to 1990. In 1990 he became 1st deputy Neuruppins . Wolfgang Klein is widowed and has an adult son.

In November 1990 Wolfgang Klein became a member of the SPD. From 1990 to 1993 he was a member of the city ​​council and the district council of Neuruppins.

In the state elections in Brandenburg in 1990 he was elected to the state parliament through the direct mandate in the constituency of Neuruppin and in the elections in 1994 and 1999 in the constituency of Ostprignitz-Ruppin II . In the state elections in Brandenburg in 2004 , he entered the state constituency of Ostprignitz-Ruppin I and entered his party's state list. Until October 2004 he was a member of the state parliament presidium and parliamentary manager of the SPD parliamentary group .

From November 2004, he was chairman of the budgetary control committee within the state parliament, of which he had previously been an ordinary member from October to November 2004. He was currently a member of the main committee for two terms from 1999 to 2009. In the previous parliamentary years he was represented in various committees and bodies. As a simple member, he was in the Legal Affairs Committee (1990 to 1994), the Investigative Committee 1/1 (1991 to 1992), the Investigative Committee 1/4 (1993 to 1994), the Election Review Committee (1994 to 1999) and the Investigative Committee 3/2 (2001 to 2004). From 1994 to 1999 he also chaired the Brandenburg-Berlin Committee.

As representative of Brandenburg, Wolfgang Klein was a member of the 10th, 11th and 12th Federal Assemblies .
