Wolfgang Klein (journalist)

Wolfgang Klein (* 1946 ) is a German journalist .

After studying at the University of Cologne , Klein worked as a reporter, presenter and editor for Westdeutscher Rundfunk Köln from the early 1970s , including as deputy head of the ARD studio in East Berlin and as a foreign correspondent in Brussels . He also moderated the Weltspiegel for Westdeutscher Rundfunk . In 1996 he switched to the private broadcaster ProSieben as head of news . From 1998 he headed the political talk show Sabine Christiansen for Das Erste . At tv.nrw he moderated Zu Gast bei Klein . In 2006, Klein joined ZDF as editor-in-chief of the talk show Berlin Mitte with Maybrit Illner . He retired at the end of 2012.
