Wolfgang Klein (born March 21, 1952 in Göppingen ; † April 8, 2020 in Göppingen) was a German actor and communication trainer.

Life

After graduating from high school in Göppingen, Wolfgang Klein attended the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts from 1971 to 1974 . This was followed by engagements at the Württemberg State Theater in Esslingen (1974 to 1976) and at the ETA-Hoffmann-Theater , Bamberg (1976 to 1978).

Since 1978 he has worked as a freelance actor, speaker and director, among other things. He appeared in individual episodes of the television series Marienhof , Tatort , Marriages in front of the court , Meister Eder and his Pumuckl and Die Kommissarin . He participated in various radio productions and worked as a voice actor. He also performed his own solo programs.

In addition to his work as an actor, Klein was active in various areas. In 1980 he developed several promotional events. In 1990 he realized the 50-part radio series "Two Minutes of English" (BR). From 1991 to 1994 he was the cultural coordinator at SPA press agency and news service, Munich. From 1995 he taught as a speaker at the Hanns Seidel Foundation and in 1998 as a guest lecturer at the European Film Actor School , Zurich.

In addition, Klein worked as a communication trainer and coach since 1987. In 2002 and 2003 he took over the direction of CDs in collaboration with Vera F. Birkenbihl

Klein volunteered in the Association of German Actors (IDS) from 1983 to 1993 as deputy chairman and since 1993 as a consultant (cultural and social officer). He wrote several publications for the IDS. From 1999 to 2004 Klein was a member of the board of trustees of the Fonds Darstellender Künste, Bonn. In 2005, at his suggestion, the “Books from the Fire” initiative began with nationwide readings to commemorate the book burning by the Nazis on May 10, 1933.

Wolfgang Klein died in Göppingen on April 8, 2020.
