Wolfgang Lüke

Wolfgang Lüke (born January 26, 1956 ) is a German lawyer and professor at the University of Leipzig .

Life

Lüke studied law at the Universities of Saarbrücken , Regensburg and Freiburg . In 1980 he passed his first state examination in law in Freiburg and then completed his legal clerkship, which he completed in 1983 with the second state examination. Parallel to his legal clerkship, he worked as a research assistant for Peter Arens . Lüke received his doctorate there in 1985. iur. He then conducted research at the University of Chicago , where he obtained the title Master of Laws in 1987 . He then taught back to Freiburg, where he completed his habilitation in 1991, with which he obtained the venia legendi for the subjects of civil law, civil procedural law and comparative law.

He then held a chair at the University of Konstanz for one semester before accepting an appointment from the TU Dresden in 1992 . There he held the chair for civil law, civil procedural law, notary law and comparative law until September 2018. From 1995 to 1997 he was dean of the Dresden law faculty. Since its establishment, Lüke has also been the director of the Institute for Foreign and International Legal Alignment. He has also been Head of the Law Department at Dresden International University since 2003 . Between 1996 and 2009 Lüke was also a part-time judge at the Dresden Higher Regional Court . He then took a leave of absence and worked as a lawyer in Munich until 2011. In the course of the restructuring of legal training in Saxony, Lüke moved to Leipzig University in September 2018 . There he holds the chair for civil law, civil procedural law, notary law and comparative law at the University of Leipzig.

Wolfgang Lüke is the son of Gerhard Lüke . He is married to Barbara Lüke, the incumbent mayor of Pulsnitz , and the father of a daughter.

Works (selection)

Lüke teaches and researches in particular insolvency law and civil procedure law. In addition, the law of inheritance and property, the law of condominium ownership according to the Condominium Act, the European legal harmonization form research priorities.
