Wolfgang Oeser (born February 21, 1932 in Dresden ; † May 4, 2013 in Dresden) was a football player in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of the East German Football Association. He played there for SG Dynamo Dresden .

Career

Oeser began playing football with the small company sports association (BSG) Aufbau Dresden Mitte . In 1954, at the age of 23, the trained furnace maker moved to BSG Stahl in the neighboring Freital , with whom he played in the second-rate GDR league for two years . After Freital had to relegate at the end of the 1954/55 season, the section head of SG Dynamo Dresden, Erich Jahnsmüller, prompted Oeser's move to the Dresden Police Club, which, however, was also relegated to the third-class 2nd GDR League . A year later, Oeser had to relegate again with the Dresdner Dynamos and played in the fourth class Dresden district league in 1957 . Subsequently, the Dynamos managed to march through the II. Into the I. GDR league and in 1962 the promotion to the GDR upper league.

In the meantime, Oeser had developed into the midfield director of the Dresden team and, as a right runner, was part of the player base. In his first league season he played 24 of the 26 point games. Dynamo Dresden did not yet have the strength to ensure relegation, so that 1963/64 another season in the GDR league followed. After the immediate resurgence, Oeser was again one of the most reliable Dynamo players with 25 league appearances. In his last league season in 1965/66, which he played as a 34-year-old, he was used again in 24 point games. After two years in the 2nd team, Oeser was officially retired as a player on June 1, 1968 before the league game Dynamo Dresden - Chemie Leipzig.

In his eleven years with the first team at Dynamo Dresden, Oeser had played 213 point games and was team captain for eight years. He was the penalty specialist for his team, having scored 19 of his 27 goals from the penalty spot. In his three league seasons he was used in 73 of 78 played point games, in which he scored seven goals. He had qualified for trainer level 4 and, after his active career, trained teams from the youth and reserve division of Dynamo Dresden until 2005. From 1974 to 1985 Oeser was the team leader of the 1st Dynamo team. On April 12, 2013 he was named honorary captain on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Dynamo Dresden .
