Wolfgang Partsch

Wolfgang Partsch (born August 29, 1945 in Vienna ) is an Austrian pioneer in the field of supply chain management (SCM). As the author of several standard works, he gained international recognition in professional circles.

Career

Wolfgang Partsch received his doctorate in physics from the University of Vienna in 1970 with a thesis on the exploration of natural resources. From 1979 he developed the concept of modern supply chain management, which he first tried out in practice from 1980 as a project manager at Booz Allen & Hamilton . In 1982, in an article in Wirtschaftswoche, he first described the main features and an application of this new approach. In 1983 he founded the world's first consultancy specializing in SCM. This was followed by consulting activities for large international corporations such as Volkswagen , Aventis , Nestle and Coca-Cola . Partsch lives in Munich .
