Wolfgang Schillkowski

Wolfgang Schillkowski (born July 3, 1942 in Danzig ) is a former German high jumper. The participant in the 1964 Olympic Games became multiple German champions and held the German record with 2.14 m.

Schillkowski began his career at TB Wülfrath . In 1962 he was third at the German championships for the first time, in 1963 he won the first of a total of three German indoor championship titles, in 1964 the first of also three German outdoor championship titles. With this result he qualified for the Summer Olympics in Tokyo of the same year. Schillkowski was 17th in the competition . In 1965 he jumped 2.14 m, which was a new German record. In 1966 he was able to reach the final battle at the European Championships and the European Indoor Games ; while he was sixth outdoors, he was able to win the runner-up in the hall. At the end of this year he moved to the athletics department of Hannover 96 , for which he could win his last German championship title outdoors in 1967.
