Wolfgang Schwendimann (also: Wolfgang Schwendiman and Wolfgang Schwendimann the Elder and Wolfganngus Schwendimannus ; or Wolffgang Swendimann and other name variations; born or baptized 29. November 1632 in Lucerne , † 1685 in Hannover ) was a princely court - printers .

Life

Wolfgang Schwendimann was born at the end of 1632 as the son of Peter Schwendimann and Anna an der Huob. In 1649 he was a student at the Lucerne Jesuit College . After an apprenticeship as a printer in his home town with David Hautt the Elder. Ä. he worked in Munich as a bookstore clerk at Johann Wagner . His application for the granting of Munich citizenship and for the establishment of his own bookshop in Munich was refused. Until 1659 he worked as a printer's assistant in Munich.

From 1665 to 1667 Schwendimann took on the duties of a factor in the printing works of Hermann Kramer's heirs. From 1669 he worked as a princely court printer in Hanover.
