Wolfgang Sehrt (born May 19, 1941 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and former member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

After finishing primary school in Uelzen , Wolfgang Sehrt attended an old-language grammar school in Duderstadt . In 1962 he entered the service of the Police of Lower Saxony and was from 1963 to 1982 riot police belonging. He attended the police leadership academy in Hiltrup , graduated there successfully and was promoted to a degree in administration. He studied at the Business and Administration Academy, where he obtained an administrative diploma.

He joined the CDU in 1969. He became a member of various committees and organizations, including a member of the supervisory board of a municipal housing association, a member of the supervisory board of the Braunschweiger Stadtwerke and board member of the Weddel - Lehrer water association. In 1974 he was elected to the city council in Braunschweig ; there he worked as chairman of his parliamentary group, member of the council of elders and chairman of the committee for culture and science. From June 21, 1982 to 2003 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament (10th to 14th electoral term). In 2011 he did not run for election to the City Council of Braunschweig again.

He is married and has two children.
