Wolfgang Speck (born April 12, 1947 in Karlsruhe ) is a former German police officer and trade unionist . From 2003 to 2007 he was federal chairman of the German Police Union (DPolG).

Life

Wolfgang Speck was a member of the Bruchsal riot police . He is a member of the local staff council , the district council and the main staff council . He has been a member of the DPolG since 1975. He exercised functions at the district, district as well as state and federal level. From 1981 to 1985 he was a member of the state board. From 1985 he was Deputy State Chairman. In 1991 he was elected deputy for the first time at federal level. 2003 then to the federal chairman. During this time he also represented the interests of the DPolG in the federal executive and federal executive board of the DBB Beamtenbundes and collective bargaining union and was in the federal commission “ Personnel Representation Law“The police representative. With his retirement after 42 years of service as a police advisor in Baden-Württemberg, Wolfgang Speck ended his active career in 2007. Wolfgang Speck became a member of the Seniors' Association of the Baden-Württemberg Public Service, where he has been chairman of the Bruchsal / Bretten district association since 2010 and has also been an assessor on the state board since 2011. Since 2013 he has been chairman of the federal senior representatives of the German Association of Civil Servants.

Wolfgang Speck is married and has two children.
