Wolfgang Wehowsky (politician)

Wolfgang Wehowsky (born October 14, 1950 in Karlsruhe ) is a Baden-Württemberg politician of the SPD and a former member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg . He represented the constituency of Bretten in the district of Karlsruhe.

education and profession

Wolfgang Wehowsky finished school in 1967 with the secondary school leaving certificate and graduated in 1971 as an administrative inspector at the Baden State Insurance Institute (LVA Baden). Later followed the postgraduate degree to become a Dipl. Verwaltungswirt (FH).

From 1971 to 1991 he held various functions within the Karlsruhe headquarters of the LVA. Among other things, he was a trainer and chief clerk in the office of the self-governing bodies.

In 1991 he completed a course at the Ministry of the Interior of Baden-Württemberg, which qualified him for higher administrative service. Subsequently, he was entrusted with staff and management tasks until 1996 as a consultant to the management of the LVA Baden. After that, Wolfgang Wehowsky moved to the operational area and was initially deputy head and later head of the rehabilitation department until 2002. Between 2003 and 2009 he took over the management of the services department in Karlsruhe. At this time he also published his second textbook "The Practice of Statutory Pensioners - An Expert Guide to Pension Issues and Pension Plans".

On October 1, 2009, he moved to the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg as a substitute applicant in the Bretten constituency for Ute Vogt, who was elected to the Bundestag . In addition, he continued to work part-time at DRV Baden-Württemberg.

Political activity

Wolfgang Wehowsky joined the SPD in 1994. After four years of membership in the board, he became first chairman in 2002 and was this until 2009. From 1998 to 2005 he was a member of the district board of the Karlsruhe district. In 2004 he was elected to the Weingarten council for the first time - since September 2009 he has been chairman of the SPD parliamentary group there.

In the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg he was a member of the social committee. In the SPD parliamentary group he was a spokesman for disability policy.

Family and private

Wolfgang Wehowsky is married, Protestant and has a grown son. He has lived in Weingarten with his family since 1975.
