Wolfgang Weitnauer

Wolfgang Weitnauer (* 1954 ) is a German lawyer specializing in over-the-counter corporate finance .

Life

Wolfgang Weitnauer studied law in Europe at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg , the Université de Lausanne , Switzerland, and the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg . In Freiburg doctorate he in 1980 with the work "The contract of gravity - a comparative view of the American and German international treaty law and the EC Convention on the law applicable to contractual obligations" to Dr. iur. A year earlier he acquired at the site Urbana-Champaign the University of Illinois the Master of Comparative Law (MCL). He was admitted to the Munich bar in 1982 .

The law firm he founded in 1995 with its headquarters in Munich and five branches in Germany primarily advises venture capital funds and technology companies and primarily supports financing rounds and M&A transactions. Weitnauer's areas of law in particular are banking & finance and private equity & venture capital.

In addition to his legal work, he has published a number of specialist books, including the “Handbook Venture Capital”, of which the 6th edition appeared in 2018, as well as “Management Buy-out” (two editions so far) and “Beck’s Form Book IT- Law ”(three editions so far). As managing editor, he is responsible for the content of the specialist publication “Corporate and Commercial Law” (GWR). He is also co-editor of the magazine for “Banking and Capital Market Law” (BKR).

He is a member of the “Law and Taxes” working group in the Federal Association of German Equity Participation Companies (BVK).
