Wolfhard Kohte

Hans-Wolfhard Kohte (* 1946 in Korbach ) is a German lawyer and former professor at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg .

Life

Kohte studied law at the University of Bochum , where he also passed his first state examination in law. After his legal clerkship in the district of the Higher Regional Court of Celle , Kohte returned to Bochum to do his doctorate. He completed this in 1981. In 1988 his habilitation followed.

After substituting professorships in the following semesters at the universities of Würzburg , Bielefeld and Berlin ( FU and HU ), he joined the University of Düsseldorf in 1991appointed to a full chair. He left Düsseldorf again the following year. He moved to the University of Halle-Wittenberg to hold the founding professorship for civil law II, the chair for civil law, German and European labor, corporate and social law. He held this chair until his retirement in 2012, but Kohte still holds lectures in Halle. Since 2012 he has been research director at the Center for Social Research Halle eV at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg.
