Wolfram Kühn (cyclist)

Wolfram Kühn (born September 30, 1950 in Groß Schönebeck ) is a German former cyclist and trainer. He started cycling at BSG Lok Bernau , later switched to BSG Stahl Eisenhüttenstadt before becoming a member of SC Turbine Erfurt .

Life

1972 was Wolfram Kühns' most successful year as a racing driver: he finished third in the Peace Drive and took part in the road race at the Olympic Games in Munich , which he did not finish due to two falls. In 1975 he was second in the team time trial at GDR championships and third in the criterion in 1976 . Further participation in peace trips followed.

In 1973 he was 18th, 1974 19th, 1975 36th In 1975 he won the traditional Berlin-Angermünde-Berlin race ( Erich Schulz memorial race ).

Due to an injury, he was unable to qualify for the 1976 Olympic Games .

In 1976 Kühn became the trainer of the SC Turbine Erfurt at the Erfurt Radrennbahn Andreasried . The four-man track he trained was Olympic champion in Seoul in 1988 and world champion in 1989 and 1990 .

Professional

Wolfram Kühn completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith. He runs two bicycle shops in Erfurt and also rides a racing bike in his free time.
