Volodymyr Wassylowytsch Demtschyschyn (born November 12, 1974 in Lviv , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian politician. Demchyshyn was Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine from 2014 to 2016 .
Life
Demchyshyn studied at the Ivan Franko University in Lviv, the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) and the University of Kansas . He holds a Master of Business Administration degree .
In 2003 he started his career in the banking sector, in which he rose to the position of director of the "Investment Banking Ukraine" banking group ( Інвестиційний капітал Україна ) in Kiev until 2008 .
From August to December 2014 he was the chairman of the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy Supply and on December 2, 2014 Demchyshyn was appointed Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine in Yatsenyuk's second cabinet . After the cabinet reshuffle on April 14, 2016, his term as minister ended.
