Wolodymyr Hlywka ( Ukrainian Володимир Гливка , scientific transliteration Volodymyr Hlyvka ; born August 24, 1973 in Lviv ) is a former Ukrainian ski jumper .

Career

Hlywka jumped in the Continental Cup (COC) from 1994 . After he was able to steadily improve his performance there until 1996, he was nominated in February 1996 for the World Cup jumping in Iron Mountain . He reached the 36th place in the first and 30th in the second. So Hlywka was able to win a World Cup point and was at the end of the 1995/96 season on the 95th place in the overall World Cup ranking. For over 13 years he was the last jumper from Ukraine to win a World Cup point.

On January 20, 2001, Hlywka was nominated again for a World Cup competition, but landed on the K134 in Park City only on 42nd place and thus far from the points. It was his last World Cup competition. He was also unable to achieve success in the Continental Cup, so that he ended his active ski jumping career for the time being at the age of 28 in 2002. After a ten-year break, he took part in a Continental Cup competition and two FIS Cup competitions in the USA in February 2012. At the Continental Cup jumping on February 12, 2012 in Iron Mountain , he was able to achieve two points in 29th place, so that he finished the ski jumping Continental Cup 2011/12 as 126th.

In 2013, Hlywka finally ended his active career.
