Won Yoo-chul (born October 25, 1962 in Pyeongtaek , South Korea ) is a conservative South Korean politician and member of the Gukhoe , where he has represented seat A of the city of Pyeongtaek since 2008. He was previously a member of the Gukhoe between 1996 and 2004. Won is the party leader of the Mirae-hanguk-Party , the satellite party of the Mirae-tonghap-Party , which was founded for the proportional representation of the general election in South Korea in 2020 .

Won holds a degree in Philosophy from Korea University .

After the Saenuri party was defeated in the parliamentary elections in South Korea in 2016 , Won became the interim leader of the Saenuri party. At the end of 2019, Won criticized the fact that South Korea had sent two North Korean refugees back to North Korea as a violation of humanity and international law, as well as a premeditated murder . He also condemned the Moon Jae-ins government's supposedly hesitant response to the COVID-19 pandemic in South Korea .
