Wonkwang University is a university in Iksan ( South Korea ). The university was founded in 1946 as Yuilhangnim ( 유일 학림 ) and is one of the few universities associated with Won Buddhism . On November 5th, the Yuilhangnim became the Wonkwang Junior College ( 원광 초급 대학 Wongwang Chogeup Daehak ). In 1971 she received university status.
The university is known for its numerous medical courses: Western Medicine, Dentistry , Pharmacy , Traditional Korean Medicine, etc. The Wonkwang Medical Center is located on campus. The Munhwa Stadium offers space for sporting or cultural events.
