history
Word Up! was released on September 12, 1986 and became a number one hit in New Zealand . The song could be heard in the episode The Cross with Words from The Simpsons . The hit was also used in an Ax commercial and in the film Johnny English - Now All the More! .
Music video
In the music video, cameos with background dancers present a choreography. The detective in the video was played by LeVar Burton .
