Workin 'Moms is a Canadian sitcom . It was first broadcast on January 10, 2017 on CBC . The German-language first publication took place on February 22, 2019 on the streaming provider Netflix . The series tells the stories of four mothers who go back to work after giving birth to their child.

The four mothers in their mid-thirties Kate, Anne, Jenny and Frankie get to know each other in a mother-child group in Toronto after the birth of their children . In addition to the children, what the four have in common is that they all returned to work after giving birth. Catherine Reitman and her husband Philipp Sternberg came up with the idea for the series during their own pregnancy. She was bothered by the fact that the mothers depicted on TV were either perfect or had domestic problems. In her opinion, problems relating to the reconciliation of work and family were not shown sufficiently. Originally, Workin 'Moms was supposed to be produced by Sender FX in the United States , but the latter turned it down and CBC bought the idea.
The exterior shots are shot in Toronto, the interior shots in CBC's own studio in Toronto.
reception
In the rating aggregator Rotten Tomatoes , the first season achieved an approval rating of 75% from critics, based on 12 ratings.
The Stuttgarter Zeitung praises the fact that Workin 'Moms "doesn't just push the complex problems of working mothers [...] in front of the camera lens, but under the magnifying glass".
DerStandard.at says: Workin 'Moms “is recommended to everyone who feels utterly alone and misunderstood after the so-called return to work. It is like balm for the troubled mother (breast) ”.
