Wornfeld is part of the Swabian community of Hainsfarth in the Donau-Ries district ( Bavaria ).

geography

The hamlet is in the open, about 2 km east of Hainsfarth. A municipal road connects it with Hainsfarth and State Road 2216 .

history

In 1267 Wornfeld was owned by the Steinhart rule and later became part of the Teutonic Order (Kommende Oettingen). The place remained there until the end of the Old Kingdom (1806). Most of the houses in Wornfeld belonged to the Catholic parish of Hainsfarth, although some Wornfeld families and residents were Protestant in the 16th, 17th and 19th centuries. These went to church after Steinhart.

Two winter linden trees by the chapel were listed as a natural monument. In 2005, however, they had to be felled for safety reasons.
