history
Until the church is planted
Hainsfarth is mentioned in the list of donations of the Fulda Abbey . These relate to the time around the year 800. At the time of the Old Kingdom , the village was divided between the following territorial rulers: Cathedral Chapter Eichstätt , German Order , Margraviate Brandenburg , Principality of Oettingen-Oettingen and Oettingen-Spielberg . While the Oettinger part was in the Swabian Empire , the other institutions belonged to the Franconian Empire . With the Rheinbund act 1806 the place came to Bavaria . Hainsfarth was in the so-called security district between Oettingen and the Prussian Principality of Ansbach . In the course of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria , today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .
Jewish community
In the 19th century, Hainsfarth housed the largest Jewish community in Swabia. In 1942, during the Holocaust , the last Jewish residents of Hainsfarth were deported and murdered. The restored synagogue and the Jewish cemetery have been preserved to this day.
Incorporations
On January 1, 1976, the previously independent community of Steinhart was incorporated with its districts Hasenmühle and Ziegelhütte.

Municipal coat of arms, municipal flag
= Coat of arms
Blazon : "In blue a golden sailing boat with a silver sail, on it a continuous black paw cross." | |
= Municipality flag
The previous community flag and coat of arms had to be replaced by a new flag and coat of arms with a different color. During preparations for the 1200th anniversary celebration in 2005, it was discovered that the former mayor, who purchased the flags in 1993, had failed to have the coat of arms and flag approved. In Bavaria, white-blue is reserved for the Free State as a flag , the coat of arms violates the heraldic color rules. In 2011 it was decided that the new flag should have three stripes (blue-white-blue), topped with the new coat of arms (in white-black-yellow).
