Kaisheim is a market in the Swabian district of Donau-Ries .

The municipality consists of 7 districts and has 12 officially named municipality parts (the type of settlement is indicated in brackets ):

history
Until the church is planted
Kaisheim was Obervogtamt and belonged to the local imperial monastery of Kaisheim . The monastery was founded in 1133 by Count Heinrich III. founded by Lechsgemünd and his wife Liukardis. It was presumably an imperial monastery since 1370, but it was not until 1656 that the monastery became directly imperial . Since the secularization in 1803 the place belongs to Bavaria . In the course of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria , today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .
The Latin name of the place was "Caesarea" (Kaisersheim).

In 1934 the community of Kaisheim was elevated to a market.
Incorporations
On July 1, 1971, the formerly independent communities of Gunzenheim (with the Bergstetten district), Hafenreut and Sulzdorf were incorporated, and Altisheim and Leitheim followed on July 1, 1972.

Between 1988 and 2018 the market grew from 3,461 to 3,824 by 363 inhabitants or 10.5%.

Martin Scharr (PWG) has been the first mayor since May 1, 2014; he was confirmed in the local elections on March 15, 2020 with 56.9% for a further six years in office. His predecessors were Franz Rößner (until 1990) and Franz Oppel (CSU) from 1990 to 2014.

- The former monastery church of the Cistercian Order , Assumption of Mary , is now the parish church of the Kaisheim market.

Kaisheim is mostly Catholic. Of the 3,817 inhabitants, 2,683 belong to the Catholic religion.
The municipality is located in the jurisdiction of two dioceses, the diocese of Augsburg and the diocese of Eichstätt. The southeast with the districts Altisheim (Parish St. Willibald), Hafenreut (Filialkirche St. Georg zu Kaisheim), Kaisheim (Parish Mariä Himmelfahrt) and Leitheim (Filialkirche St. Blasius zu Altisheim) belongs as part of the parish community of Kaisheim to the Diocese of Augsburg, the Northwest with Bergstetten (Filialkirche Heiligste Dreifaltigkeit zu Buchdorf), Gunzenheim (Expositur St. Thomas zu Fünfstetten) and Sulzdorf (Parish St. Margareta) to the diocese of Eichstätt.

The municipal tax revenue amounted to the equivalent of € 2,855 thousand in 2016, of which € 498 thousand was trade tax income (net).
In 2016, according to official statistics, there were no employees at the place of work in the field of agriculture and forestry, 125 in the manufacturing sector and 85 in the trade, transport and hospitality sector. In other economic sectors 128 people were employed at the place of work subject to social security contributions. There were a total of 1345 employees at the place of residence subject to social security contributions. There was one company in the manufacturing sector and no company in the main construction sector. In 2010 there were also 34 farms with an agricultural area totaling 1230 hectares, of which 763 hectares were arable land and 466 hectares were permanent green space.

- Two day-care centers with 134 kindergarten places and 93 children in care (2017)
- Elementary school: Graf Heinrich elementary school with ten teachers and 146 students (2016/17)
- Special school: Abt-Ulrich-Schule with 27 teachers and 199 students (2016/17)
