Werner Schiedermair
Werner Schiedermair (born September 22, 1942 in Huisheim ) is a German ministerial official who was responsible for the preservation of monuments in Bavaria for many years .
Life
Werner Schiedermair, a son of the administrative lawyer Rudolf Schiedermair , studied law, classical archeology and art history at the University of Würzburg . He passed his first state examination in law in 1965, and in 1968 he was awarded a Dr. jur. PhD. After the second state examination in 1969, he became a civil servant at the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture in the area of grammar school administration. From 1973 he was entrusted with the organization of the implementation of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act in the Bavarian State Ministry for Science, Research and Art and, as Ministerialrat, headed the Department of Monument Preservation and was also the managing director of the Bavarian State Monument Council . From 1996 until his retirement in 2007 he headed the supervision department for the University of Würzburg and the department for foundations. In July 2006 he was appointed honorary professor for art history at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt , where he gave lectures on the subject of “Handling historical cultural assets”.
