Wrathchild America was an American thrash metal band from Baltimore , Maryland that was founded in 1978 under the name Atlantis and renamed Souls at Zero in 1993 .
history
The band was formed in 1978 by school friends Shannon Larkin (drums), guitarist and bassist Kevin Keller and guitarist Terry Carter. A short time later, singer Tuck McDonald joined the band. After they, initially known as Atlantis and Tyrant and later renamed Wrathchild, had developed a few songs and the first demos had appeared in the following years, their debut album Climbin 'the Walls was released in 1989 on Atlantic Records . Since there was a British glam metal band called Wrathchild , which delayed the debut release with a lawsuit, "America" became a permanent part of the name. The debut made it to number 190 on the Billboard 200 .
In 1991 the second album 3-D followed , with which the band was able to get some good reviews at the end of the thrash metal boom. At the end of 1991 she went on tour in Europe with Gang Green . Atlantic Records parted ways with Wrathchild America shortly after its release . Two years after releasing their second and final album, the group renamed themselves Souls at Zero.
style
The band played Thrash Metal with strong influences from Heavy and Power Metal , so that comparisons with Metal Church were also used.
