Shannon Larkin (born April 24, 1967 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American drummer, best known for his membership in the band Godsmack . Career
Shannon Larkin began playing drums at the age of ten. His parents were music lovers and introduced him to the music of the Beatles , Johnny Cash , Elvis Presley , Creedence Clearwater Revival , Janis Joplin , Jimi Hendrix and The Who . Through his sister he got to know Rush's album Hemispheres and also heard the music of Led Zeppelin , on which he wanted to play the drums.
With his first major label band Wratchild America, which was initially just called Wrathchild, he released two albums in 1989 and 1991, two more in 1993 and 1994 with Souls at Zero. Larkin subsequently became a member of Ugly Kid Joe. From a side project called MF Pitbulls, the band Snot was formed , whose drummer Jamie Miller later played again in Souls at Zero. Larkin recommended him. Miller later recommended Larkin again at Snot, with whom Larkin later recorded the tribute album Strait Up .
In 2002, Sully Erna of Godsmack called Shannon Larkin. Larkin then replaced Tommy Stewart with the band and has recorded four studio albums with her to date. Shannon Larkin has been a member of the newly formed Ugly Kid Joe again since 2010.
Larkin also worked briefly for Stone Sour . He also played with Black Sabbath on a temporary basis at the 1997 Ozzfest .
