The Wye River is a river in the east of the Australian state of Tasmania .
geography
River course
The river rises on the western slopes of Big Peppermint Hill in the southwest corner of the Snowy Hill Forest Reserve , about 2.5 km east of Lake Leake and about 85 km southeast of Launceston . From there, the Wye River first flows southeast through the Wye River State Reserve . Then it turns its course to the east and flows into the Swan River about 7 km south of Cranbrook .
