Wyong is a town (suburb) in the Australian state of New South Wales and is about halfway between Sydney and Newcastle . It is located in the Central Coast area about 90 kilometers north of Sydney at an altitude of about twelve meters. Wyong is the namesake and administrative seat of the Wyong Shire , which with 143,000 inhabitants is one of the largest local administrative areas in the state outside of Sydney, to whose metropolitan area ( Sydney Statistical Division ) it belongs. Wyong itself has about 4,300 inhabitants (as of 2016).
