The Wytegra ( Russian Вытегра ) is a tributary of Lake Onega in the Vologda Oblast in the north of the European part of Russia .

The Wytegra flows in a northerly direction through the Wytegra district of the same name and past the Rajon capital of the same name, Wytegra , to the south bank of Lake Onega. The 64 km long river was developed into a shipping canal and forms part of the Volga-Baltic Sea Canal . The catchment area covers 1670 km².
