XXS Records was an independent - record label from Hamburg . It was founded in 1996 by Michael Hess and Ruth Witte. The name (alternative spelling: iXiXeS Records) was derived from Fanzine XXS, which was launched in 1993 by Michael Hess and Marc Fischer . The label mainly released bands from the Hamburg alternative country and pop scene such as Fink (Band) , Veranda Music, Acadian Post, Helikon, Tenfold Loadstar , but also acts from other German cities and the USA . In 2004 the label ceased active operations.
