Xaver Hoch

Xaver Hoch (born April 18, 1947 in Triesen ) is a Liechtenstein politician ( FBP ).

biography

Hoch was born in 1947 as the son of the construction worker and farmer Johann Hoch and his wife Aloisia (née Feger) and had four siblings. He attended elementary school in Triesen for six years and then from 1960 to 1963 the secondary school in Vaduz . He then completed an apprenticeship as a draftsman at the Rudolf Wenaweser engineering office in Schaan from 1963 to 1966 . After his apprenticeship, Hoch worked in this engineering office as a civil engineering draftsman and site manager. He also attended the evening technical college in Vaduz from 1967 to 1971. There he received his degree as a civil engineer HTL. In 1973 he started his own business and founded the engineering office Hoch & Gassner AG together with Louis Gassner , where he was a co-owner until 2016.

From 1975 to 1987 he was a member of the Triesen municipal council for the Progressive Citizens' Party and from 1987 to 2007 he held the office of mayor . Overall, he was successfully elected mayor of Triesen five times in a row. In February 1993 he was elected a member of the state parliament of the Principality of Liechtenstein for his party . He was re- elected in the subsequent election in October of the same year . Hoch was a member of the state parliament until 1997. In 2007 he decided not to run again for the office of mayor of Triesen.

Hoch is a citizen of the municipality of Triesen and was married. From his marriage there was a daughter. From 1975 to 1976 he was president of FC Triesen . In 2007 he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Princely Liechtenstein Order of Merit .
