Xavier Wulf , also known as Ethelwulf or The Local Men (* 1992 as Xavier Beard in Memphis, Tennessee , USA), is an American rapper and music producer .

style

Xavier Wulf's musical style can be assigned to Down South and Memphis Rap . Musically Wulf was also mainly inspired by artists from the city of Memphis such as. Three Six Mafia or 8Ball & MJG .

biography

Beard was born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1992. He started rapping as a teenager. After dropping out of school without graduation and jailed several times for possession of marijuana, Beard released his first own recordings under the name Ethelwulf. He was then accepted into the rap collective Raider Klan . In 2012 his debut mixtape The Wolf Gang's Rodolphe was released under the name Ethelwulf. He became known to a larger audience when he was seen together with the Raider Klan in a show in the Boiler Room in 2013.

In spring 2013 he left the Raider Klan and called himself Xavier Wulf from then on. According to their own statements, to “give his music a more serious paint job”. Between 2013 and 2015, Xavier Wulf moved to Los Angeles , California and released his first album Blood Shore Season 1 on The Hollow Squad label in 2014 . In the same year the second part Blood Shore Season 2 was released . However, both albums were produced by different artists. In February 2015, Tundra Boy Season One was the first self-produced album, also on The Hollow Squad. In 2016 Beard released an album of the same name under the stage name The Local Men .

Since 2014 Xavier Wulf has formed the collective Seshollowaterboyz with the former Raider Klan members Chris Travis and Eddy Baker together with the rapper Bones .

In 2016 he gave his first concert abroad in Toronto, Canada. Since 2017, Xavier Wulf has been performing at the popular hip-hop festival Rolling Loud , both as a solo artist and with his formation Seshollowaterboyz. In 2018 he was seen for the first time in Moscow at the Booking Machine Festival both as a solo artist and together with Bones. In the same year the American Wasteland Tour followed , which took him to all major cities in the USA. In 2019 Xavier Wulf was on a European tour, which also took him to Germany. He performed at the Prince Charles Club in Berlin , which was closed in 2019 , at the Hamburg music club Uebel & Hazardous and at the Freund + Kupferstecher club in Stuttgart . On March 7, 2019, Wulf performed in Hungary for the first time . He was seen in the Dürer Kert in Budapest.

At the beginning of 2020 he recorded the song Don't Touch the Remote with producer Marcelo for the TV channel Adult Swim . From March to April 2020 he could be seen in various cities on the east and west coast of the USA on the Headline Inaugural Vengeance Tour together with the rapper Attila.
