Xia Baolong

Xia Baolong ( Chinese  夏宝龙 ; * 1952 in Tianjin ) is a politician in the People's Republic of China .

Xia joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1973 . After holding various positions in politics and administration in the Hexi District of Tianjin, he was vice mayor of that city from 1997 to 2003.

He graduated in economics at Peking University and obtained in 2002 the degree Doctor .

In 2003, he moved to Zhejiang Province as the deputy party secretary . From 2011 he was the successor of Lü Zushan , initially managing director, governor of this province.

In December 2012 he was appointed provincial party secretary. He was succeeded as governor by Li Qiang .

He has been a candidate since 1997 and has been a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China since November 2012 .
