Xu made his debut in Beida Lake in December 2010 in the Freestyle Skiing World Cup and finished eighth and third. This was followed by sixth place in Mont Gabriel and 12th place in the Aerials World Cup at the end of the season. She finished fourth at the 2013 World Championships in Voss and achieved two top ten finishes in the 2013/14 season, including third place in Beida Lake and 11th place in the Aerials World Cup. At the 2015 World Championships on Kreischberg , she jumped to eighth place. She completed her best World Cup season so far in 2018/19. She came in second and once in third place in the World Cup and thus reached seventh place in the overall World Cup and second place in the Aerials World Cup. At the season highlight, the 2019 World Championships in Park City , she finished 14th. In the following season she came with three top ten finishes, including third place in Raubitschy and second place in Krasnoyarsk to fifth place in the Aerials World Cup.
