Yōjirō Noda

Yōjirō Noda ( Japanese 野 田 洋 次郎 Noda Yōjirō ; born July 5, 1985 in Tokyo ) is a Japanese rock musician , record producer and actor .

Life

Noda was born in Tokyo to a businessman and a piano teacher. At the age of six he lived in the United States for three years . He has had an interest in guitar playing since he was in junior high school after hearing the music of Oasis for the first time .

Career

In 2001 when Noda attended the first year of Tōin Gakuen High School in Yokohama , he joined the band Radwimps as a singer at the request of a friend , where he also became a guitarist and chiefly responsible songwriter . The debut album named after the band was released in 2003, followed by the major debut Radwimps 2 on Toshiba EMI two years later .

In 2008 he wrote and produced a song for another musician for the first time. The piece is called Labrador and was recorded by the singer Chara as the main promo single for her album Honey .

Since November 2012 Noda has announced his solo project Illion . In the following year, the debut album Ubu was released by the Warner Music Group , which was able to position itself in the top 10 of the Japanese album charts . His second album was released in October 2016 under the title PYL

In 2015, Yōjirō Noda made his acting debut. He played the main character Hitoshi in the drama Pieta in the Toilet . His band, Radwimps, wrote and produced the opening credits for the film. In 2017 he played the role of Shin Michima in the short television series Million Yen Woman . Noda had a brief speaking role in the 2018 film Isle of Dogs . There he spoke to the newscaster. In the same year he played a role in Nakimushi Shottan no Kiseki .

Noda published his first book in May 2015 under the title Rarirure-ron . This is a collection of essays that were created during the 2014 Grand Prix Jikkyō Namachūkei Tour in Japan and explain his decision to have accepted the role in Pieta in the Toilet .
