Career

Ikehata learned to play soccer on the school team at Shimizu Commercial High School . He signed his first contract in 1998 with the Sanfrecce Hiroshima . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . For the club, he completed four first division games. In 2000 he moved to league rivals Verdy Kawasaki . For the club, he completed four first division games. In 2001 he moved to the second division club Ōita Trinita . For the club he completed 24 games.
