Yūji Ono ( Japanese 小野 裕 二 , Ono Yūji ; born December 22, 1992 in Yokosuka , Kanagawa Prefecture ) is a Japanese football player .

Yūji Ono is the brother of Yūto Ono who plays in the Thai League for Samut Prakan City FC in Thailand .

Career

Yūji Ono learned to play football in the youth team of the Yokohama F. Marinos . In the 2010 season he was used as a youth player ten times in the first team. In 2011 he signed his first professional contract with the Marinos. The club from Yokohama , a city in Kanagawa Prefecture , played in the country's first division, the J1 League . After 62 top division games, he moved to Europe in 2013 . Here he signed a contract with the Belgian club Standard Liège . The club from Liège played in the first division, division 1A . In July 2015 he moved to league competitor VV St. Truiden in Sint-Truiden . In 2017 he returned to Japan. Here he signed a contract with the first division club Sagan Tosu in Tosu . For Tosu, he completed 68 first division games. At the beginning of 2020, league competitor Gamba Osaka from Suita signed him.
