Yadé Kara
Yadé Kara (* 1965 in Çayırlı , Eastern Turkey ) is a German-Turkish German-speaking writer .
Life
Yade Kara grew up in old West Berlin. After graduating from school, she studied English and German and also worked at the Berlin Schiller Theater. At times she also worked in London , Istanbul and Hong Kong , including as an actress , teacher and journalist . She published articles on radio and television.
Her first novel Selam Berlin (2003) received the German Book Prize in 2004 . She also received the Adelbert von Chamisso Award in 2004 . A follow-up work appeared in 2008 with Cafe Cyprus .
