Çayırlı ( Armenian Mants , Kurdish Mose , Zazaisch Manse ) is a Turkish city and at the same time the administrative center of the district of the same name in the Turkish province of Erzincan . The city is about 79 kilometers east of the provincial capital Erzincan and is home to about a third (2018: 35.7%) of the district's population. Until the beginning of the 20th century, Çayırlı was an Armenian place under the name of Mants . In 1954 the place was raised to a municipality ( Belediye ).

The county was formed in 1954 by splitting off the western part of Tercan county. It is located in the western part of the province and borders on Üzümlü District in the southwest, the central district ( Merkez ) in the west, the Gümüşhane and Bayburt provinces in the northwest, Otlukbeli district in the north and Tercan district in the east.

In addition to the district town, it also includes 47 villages ( Köy ) with an average of 124 inhabitants, of which Verimli (475 inhabitants) is the largest. The population density of the district is low and does not reach half the provincial average of 20 inhabitants per square kilometer.
