Yair Dalal (* 25. July 1955 ) is an Israeli composer and musician Iraqi - Jewish descent.

His preferred instruments are the oud and violin , and he sometimes sings to his own accompaniment. He composes music based on both Jewish and Arabic traditions, as well as classical and Indian music . He became known to a European audience through his collaboration with Zubin Mehta or Jordi Savall and the ensemble Hesperion XXI , with whom he has also recorded several recordings of old Andalusian music.

He is a peace activist and tries to mediate and understand between Arabs and Jews . In 1994 he played and sang “Zaman el Salaam” at the Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony for Rabin , Peres and Arafat . He was accompanied by a large children's choir.
