Yalçın Küçük

Yalçın Küçük (* 1938 in İskenderun ) is a Turkish publicist. He belongs to the Marxist and left-wing national spectrum. Küçük published around 50 books.

Life

Yalçın Küçük's family is originally from Aleppo . Küçük was born in Iskenderun. He completed his high school at the Kabataş Boys' High School in Beşiktaş and studied at the Faculty of Political Science at Ankara University . During his student days, he took over the chairmanship of various left-wing debating clubs from which the “ Revolutionary Youth ” ( Devrimci Gençlik or Dev-Genç ) would later emerge.

Küçük finished his studies in 1960 and then worked in the State Planning Office . In 1966 he began teaching at the Technical University of the Middle East . In 1973 Küçük was called up for military service and experienced the Cyprus invasion of Turkey as a soldier. After the military coup in 1980 , he was fired from teaching.

In 1993 Küçük left Turkey. In the same year he had sensational talks with Abdullah Öcalan on the Bekaa Plain , which he published in book form. In 1998 he returned to Turkey and in 1999 served a two-year prison sentence for “separatist propaganda” according to Art. 169 tStGB old version . On the PKK-affiliated channel Med TV, he described the PKK's actions as a “holy struggle”.

In early 2009, Yalçın Küçük was taken into custody for 12 days for alleged involvement in the alleged Ergenekon organization . In March 2011, another arrest warrant was issued against the publicist on the same grounds. "After mainly military and academics were arrested on suspicion of Ergenekon in the past, the investigations have recently increasingly been directed against media representatives," reports the AFP news agency . In 2016 it was proven that the organization does not exist.

Yalçın Küçük makes use of anti-Semitic stereotypes in his political writings. He describes the secret activities of alleged crypto-Jews and claims that Islam in Turkey is increasingly "Judaized". There are Jews within the well-known Kurdish ruling family Bedirxan Begs . There is also considerable influence of “Jewish capital” on Turkish-Russian relations and Jews also have a hand in the game with the Saudis.
