Yanara Katherine Nicole Aedo Muñoz (born August 5, 1993 in Temuco ) is a Chilean football player .

Career

Aedo started her career in her hometown with Club Deportivo Escolar Escuela Estandar de Temuco. In January 2008 she left CDE Escuela Estandar de Temuco and moved to city rivals Araucanía Temuco. There Aedo moved up to the senior team of Araucanía Temuco at the age of only 15 and made her debut in January 2009 in the Tercera División, the second highest Chilean women's football league . In January 2011 she left Temuco and switched to CSD Colo-Colo . She made her professional debut in March 2011 as part of the Torneo de Apertura Femenino , the highest Chilean women's football league . In November 2011 she also reached the final of the Copa Libertadores Femenina with her team . In 2012 she won her first national championship with Colo-Colo. At the Copa Libertadores Femenina 2012 she reached the final again with the club and won the title after beating Brazilian representatives Foz Cataratas FC .

From January 2015 to September 2016 Aedo played for W-League participant Washington Spirit Reserves , with whom she won the championship final in 2015. She then played for the Spanish first division club Valencia CF in the 2016/17 season , with whom she finished third in the championship. In June 2017 she returned from Valencia to Washington with the Argentine Estefanía Banini . Aedo did not play a competitive game for Washington until the contract was terminated in June 2018, also due to injuries.

International

Aedo took part with the Chilean junior selection at the U-17 World Cup in 2010 in Trinidad and Tobago and in the U-20 South American Championship in 2012 in Paraguay . Since November 2011 she has been part of the A-squad for the Chilean national soccer team . Which she helped Canada to a sensational victory on December 18, 2013 with her decisive goal, over which multiple World Cup participants Canada .
