The Yanggakdo Stadium is a football stadium with an athletics facility on the Yanggak Island in the North Korean capital Pyongyang . It offers 30,000 seats in its stands. It is mainly used for DPR Korea League soccer games and for North Korean national soccer team games. According to the KCNA news agency , the sports facility has a field made of artificial turf , an athletics facility and training facilities for boxing , wrestling , judo and swimming .
history
The stadium was built on the occasion of the birthday of the state founder Kim-Il-Sung in 1989. It is the home stadium of the DPR Korea League football teams April 25 Sports Club and Pyongyang Sports Group .
